BGR’s updated dashboards explain how local property tax rates are changing as homeowners review their tax bills.

2026 Property Tax Dashboard

As homeowners across the region review their property tax bills, new data from BGR’s Property Tax Dashboards provides an updated picture of local property tax rates in St. Tammany, Orleans, and Jefferson parishes.

The latest update shows that St. Tammany Parish’s median property tax rate declined again in 2025, extending a two-year decrease of about 10%. At the same time, property tax rates ticked up slightly in Orleans and Jefferson parishes, largely due to tax renewals and other voter-approved changes.

This update comes at a moment when many residents are asking why their tax bill looks the way it does, and how these changes factor into what they owe. The dashboards are designed to answer those questions by showing, in one place, total property tax rates, which taxing bodies receive the money, and how rates have changed over time.
