BGR President and CEO Amy Glovinsky and Vice President & Research Director Stephen Stuart talked about the 2020 Excellence in Government Awards program and a variety of issues related to local government in a live interview with Oliver Thomas on WBOK-1230 AM’s The Good Morning Show. BGR’s biennial Excellence in Government Awards honor unsung heroes from government and the private sector who have been successful in improving government in the metropolitan New Orleans area. Anyone can submit a nomination, and public participation is critical to the success of the program. The deadline for submitting applications is February 14, 2020. During the WBOK interview, Glovinsky and Stuart also answered a variety of questions from Mr. Thomas and listeners of the show relating to the use of government resources. Additionally, the BGR leaders shared information about BGR’s mission, recent reports and year-round monitoring of local government agencies.
