The Bureau of Governmental Research (BGR) is a private, nonprofit, independent research organization dedicated to informed public policy making and the effective use of public resources for the improvement of government in the Greater New Orleans metropolitan area.

To achieve this mission, we produce public policy reports, monitor local government and host public events that connect citizens to policymakers. We also work toward outcomes that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, accountability and transparency of local government.
