Jefferson Parish workers to receive prestigious government award

Kazem Alikhani, director of the Jefferson Public Works Department, and Joy Peacock, deputy judicial admininstrator of special programs for Jefferson Juvenile Court, are among nine people selected for Excellence in Government awards by the Bureau of Governmental Research. The awards are given out annually.

The awards are sponsored by the Greater New Orleans Foundation and MAC-RE, LLC. The 2012 awards luncheon will be held Sept. 27 at noon at The Westin Canal Place hotel, 100 Iberville St., New Orleans.
