Henderson Lewis Jr., the new Orleans Parish school superintendent, will share his ideas for his first half-year at an April 15 breakfast. Lewis started work March 18 after a search that lasted more than 2 1/2 years.

The Bureau of Governmental Research is hosting the event, which is sponsored by IberiaBank. Lewis submitted a start-up plan during the job interviews that said he would follow the bureau’s recommendations from an influential 2013 report on the school system’s finances.

The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. To sign up, email events@bgr.org.
