Future of Jefferson Parish schools topic of BGR briefing

METAIRIE, La. — James Meza, acting superintendent of the Jefferson Parish Public School System, will be the featured speaker at a Bureau of Governmental Research program on Tuesday.

Meza will focus on proposals for decentralizing the decision-making process within the school system and other issues about the future of education in Jefferson.

The session, which is free and open to the public, is set for 8-9 a.m. at the Sheraton Metairie Hotel, 4 Galleria Blvd.

BGR is a nonprofit watchdog group that focuses on public policy.
