The Bureau of Governmental Research (BGR) is a private, nonprofit, independent research organization dedicated to informed public policy making and the effective use of public resources for the improvement of government in the New Orleans metropolitan area. Since our founding in 1932, we have monitored and analyzed government policies, structures, finances and processes to identify critical issues requiring best-practice problem solving.

Business and Operations Manager

(Posted April 5, 2024) The Bureau of Governmental Research seeks a Business and Operations Manager to handle the finance, HR, board, day-to-day logistics, and routine internal and external events of this small non-profit. The Business and Operations Manager reports to and provides support for the CEO.

The ideal candidate for Business and Operations Manager is a positive, team player who thinks in terms of systems and constantly works to improve them. The right person is a master of the software, web and workflow management applications that power the financial, HR, and board aspects of the organization and thinks of technology as a key component of a solution. The successful Business and Operations Manager candidate is a problem-solver who takes initiative to work independently and proactively to manage the affairs of the organization so that it functions optimally. That candidate also is comfortable taking on independent projects and delivering results.

Research Internships
